Forest Lake was founded in April 1999 by a gentlemen name Wei Xianwei and his guide dog, which he needed to acquire following the loss of his eyesight in March 1997. He was finding it difficult to go out with his dog due to the headaches that it entailed upon his return. He tried several kinds of dog coats to no avail. He then asked a seamstress to sew a dog coat according to the design that he envisioned. The day that the coat was ready, he tried it with very satisfying results. I then thought that this coat could be useful to all dog owners of the world. It is for this reason that Forest Lake was born.
